Wellness tourism is a type of tourism activity, which aims to improve and balance all the main domains of human life, including physical, mental, emotional, occupational, intellectual and spiritual.

At Turku University of Applied Sciences, we have built up our understanding of the wellness megatrend from customers’, businesses’ and destinations’ point of view systematically in several international as well as domestic R&D projects over the years.

Introduction to Sustainable Wellness Tourism offers you an overview of the main dimensions of wellness, its determinants, market trends and business opportunities in the context of tourism and leisure.

The course is suitable for those studying business, tourism, hospitality, sports, event management or health promotion. Alternatively, those working in a branch already somehow affected by the wellness megatrend also benefit from this day.
