Utö is Finland´s southermost inhabited island. The island´s lighthouse, pilot station and former army outpost have been recognised as being of cultural importance by the National Board of Antiquities. The island´s rugged nature creates a strong contrast to its warm Archipelago surroundings.
You can reach Utö either from Pärnäs (in Nagu) aboard the island ferry Eivor, or from Turku - the River Aura at the foot of the Martinsilta bridge aboard m/s Aspö. The jourrney takes a few hours, but once there it´s easy to see the importance of the long voyage.
