Where is Turku?

The city of Turku is located on the southwest coast of Finland on the shores of the famous Archipelago. The River Aura flowing through the city centre is the country's most important river as well as being the largest in Southwest Finland.

The archipelago of Turku extends all the way west to the edge of Airisto. The biggest islands around Turku are Hirvensalo and Ruissalo with Satava and Kakskerta further to the south. The Turku archipelago, containing as many as 20,000 islands and skerries, is so wide it reaches from the outskirts of the city all the way to the Åland Islands that lie between Finland and Sweden.
