This traditional Finnish theatre was found in 1946.

The repertoire includes domestic plays and foreign premieres, as well as splendid musicals and touching drama.

Brought to the Main stage, in cooperation with Linnateatteri, is the locally produced and highly anticipated Kakola musical. Also part of the repertoire is Michael Frayn’s hilarious farce ‘Noises Off’. The season includes home-grown talent as well as some of the best from plays abroad.

The small Sopukka stage hosts modern Finnish and foreign drama, with interesting visiting performances. For children Sopukka also stages Mauri Kunnas’ Herra Hakkaraisen seitsemän ihmettä.

All performances are in Finnish.
