There is a pretty old house standing near the Aurasilta bridge. More than 300 years old building used to host a pharmacy, among other things.
Qwensel House is Turku’s oldest surviving bourgeois home from the early 1700’s. The Rococo and Gustavian style rooms present the contemporary decór of gentry life. The shop wing houses the 19th Century pharmacy including a material and herb room, two laboratories as well as an office with it’s completely preserved interior. On display are an extensive collection of pharmacy paraphernalia, the 1920’s pharmaceutical laboratory and the pharmacy history exhibition. In the summer there is a delightful café in the courtyard.
