Paavo’s Sports Day, 10-11 June

Paavo’s Sports Day launches the Paavo Nurmi Festival events at the Paavo Nurmi Stadium. In this high paced, energetic event the whole family can, among other things, experience different sports from athletics to salibandy as well as romp through Pörri's Energy track and up in the heights of FlowPark’s 40 metre high climbing course. The event will also see visits from the athletics stars of the Paavo Nurmi Games. Entrance to the event is free.

Paavo Nurmi Junior Games, 12 June

The Paavo Nurmi Junior Games bring together young athletes (perhaps the future Paavo Nurmi’s) to compete to be the best and break personal records in the atmosphere of international competition at the Paavo Nurmi Stadium. Competition categories are organized for young people aged from 11 to 19 years. Entrance to the event is free.

Paavo Nurmi Games, 13 June

The Paavo Nurmi Games is Finland’s toughest international track and field competition. In 2015 the Paavo Nurmi Games will be organized as part of the European Athletics Association’s top-level competition series – the Premium Permit Meetings. Another competition taking place is the IAAF Hammer Throw Challenge, bringing together the world’s best hammer throwers at the Paavo Nurmi Stadium.

Paavo Nurmi Marathon, 1 July

At the height of summer the Paavo Nurmi Marathon offers participants three distance options: the full marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km) as well as a 10 km run.
