Head up the Kakolanmäki hill this summer to enjoy a coffee from a tin mug and the signature Kakola Cake. The café operates from the former prison warden’s home, constructed in 1879. In addition to coffee breaks, there are wonderful views over Turku and also a museum, giving visitors the chance to investigate the history of the notorious Kakola prison.
The café and museum are open during summer.
Rising in popularity, the fantastic Food Walk provides a cross-section of Turku’s restaurant culture.
