Åbo Svenska Teater Åbo Svenska Teater is Finland's oldest theatre, renowned for staging top musical productions.
The Theatre’s all-time most popular production Les Misérables was awarded the Oscar of Tourism 2011 for the best act of tourism in the Turku region. The famous musical continues in January and February 2012.
The repertoire also includes new domestic drama, children's theatre, stand-up comedy and touring productions.
In the spring of 2012 the main stage presents the play Kungen av Ö, the new drama by Anders Larsson, which deals with Archipelago life through the eyes of two generations.
In the autumn of 2012 the theatre yet again delivers a world-class musical, HAIR.
Plot descriptions are available in Finnish for all performances, free of charge, and many plays have Finnish subtitles.
The charming premises are available for private use. The Studio Stage with a 100-person capacity is suitable for meetings, while the Tiljan restaurant salon is perfect for celebrating weddings or special events under the crystal chandeliers. The Main Stage is ideal for company functions. Full catering is available for groups upon reservation.
